Here you go, a picture of a person using a dog to plow a field. Alaska.

Repost: Norwegian "babyslynge"
I usually try to avoid reposting, but I COULD NOT avoid this one. It is adorable, and indeed "my ovaries exploded" just like Ariel from Offbeat Mama said they would.
Eat it up. I'm going to buy my husband one of these RIGHT NOW in order to prepare for our baby that does not exist yet.

On what happened to the sweater...
I mentioned earlier that I had to frog (rip out) the body of my sweater. It might seem sad, but it had to happen. It really did. You'd agree, in fact you will agree after you see the rest of these pictures.

Overtime
Not so much time at home... It's almost over, just another week really.
The weather up here has gotten beautiful! It's probably only in the 60's but people are out in droves wearing shorts! Alaskans get very excited about summer.
Haven't really gotten to work on anything besides just eating sleeping and trying to relax the day or two I get off.
Hope everyone is enjoying Spring!

A lot about knitting and sleeping
Last night I was terribly excited to attach the sleeves of my OWL sweater to the body. I have had some issues with the body, mainly that it was much too large. I decided to just keep going even though my gauge was somewhat off, but really only slightly. After I attached the sleeves, I tried the damn thing on and though I was excited to see it come together, I knew it was comically large. Sigh. However, I am excited to redesign it in a more custom fit. I have learned a great deal about knitting sweaters and shaping. I don't think it is the pattern's fault. It appears to have worked for a lot of people; my gauge must just be funky.

Nausea Update
You've all probably been wondering where I have been, what I have been cooking, baking and knitting. Or not, but I'll assume the former because it makes me feel good about myself.
To be honest, it's better you don't know how I've been, Why? No doubt, you'd just get a rant about how my dogs keeping getting out and how I am afraid they are going to fall through the half melted ice of the Chena River or get hit by a car on one of the many nearby busy streets, or how much I hate working nights, hate sleeping through the day and waking up hot and mildly nauseous at 4 pm, especially when I wake up to escaping dogs that I have to chase down the street in my bathrobe, barefoot in the slushy snow. I gotta wonder what the neighbors think. Do you really want to hear about how my husband's return home is continually delayed? When you combine that, with the lack of sleep and the runaway dogs you get tears, lots of tears and a general short temper.
So go on with your day and don't worry about me. I'll let you know all about the good stuff another day, but don't hold your breath.

An Early Easter Ham
We had an early Easter this year, or perhaps a family dinner if you prefer. Regardless, this ham was present, as were my dear sisters!

Everything-But-The-Kitchen-Sink Quiche
My food often ends up piled high with extras, extra spices, meats, veggies, berries, flavoring. I just pile the food accessories high as can be. Sometimes the result is less than breathtaking, but sometimes it is perfect. A quiche is a fine place to showcase a lot of ingredients. In fact, all of the ingredients. All of them.

Sweaters for the Owls
I made a sweater once, a long time ago. It was a shrug. Remember those? It was made out of glossy, apple green cotton yarn and didn't have a clasp in the front. It took me forever to finish all the pieces. F-O-R-E-V-E-R. Forever. I finally stitched all the pieces together one ominous day and tried my damndest to get those shoulder seams to match up. They didn't, and I was left with an often lumpy shouldered booby cover. I kept the thing for a long time just because it was hard to part with and finally flung it to the wind, er I mean Goodwill. So, suffice it to say that I never, ever want to knit a sweater that is not seamless again. NEVER.
Thank god I finally found this most awesome of patterns. It's called owls, and you can see why. It is one of the number one patterns on Ravelry.com. Like a bazillion people have made it. In fact, the pattern has been rewritten based on the modifications and improvements of thousands. Amazing. The inter-webs are amazing.

Packaging
I don't really drink milk anymore; I drink soymilk, but cook with cow's milk. That would explain the dual milk cartons in the fridge. This one is far prettier than the soy.
